Finance Officer

About HUC Corporation

HUC Corporation is not just another tech company. Our mission is to “leverage evolving technologies to improve life and bring happiness.” We are the minds behind innovative platforms like MigrateWin and InfoBotAI, and we deliver complex AI, robotics, and digital transformation projects for our clients. Guided by our “Humanising Technology” ethos, we are a lean, values-driven team poised for significant growth.

We are now seeking a commercially minded Finance Officer to join our Birmingham engineering hub. This is a unique opportunity to build the financial engine that will power our innovation pipeline, reporting directly to the Company Director and becoming an integral part of our core team.

Job Summary

As our Finance Officer, you will be the cornerstone of our financial and commercial operations. Your role goes beyond the numbers; you will be a true business partner, building a sophisticated financial framework while bridging the gap between our technology, our clients, and our strategic goals.

You will manage the full financial lifecycle of our diverse products and services from SaaS subscriptions for our platforms to billing for large-scale AI consultancy projects. This is a dynamic role offering the chance to shape a best-in-class finance function that is as agile and forward-thinking as the technology we create.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and prepare timely monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet) under UK GAAP, providing the leadership team with a clear view of our financial health.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, providing deep-dive analysis into key growth drivers like digital marketing spend for products like MigrateWin and our upcoming B2B marketplace.
  • Own the complete accounts receivable cycle, from generating client invoices to proactively contacting clients to ensure timely payment.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 13-week cash-flow forecast, ensuring the robust liquidity needed to fuel our R&D and product development.
  • Take full ownership of all HMRC compliance (PAYE, VAT, Corporation Tax) and design internal financial controls that align with our ISO-style governance framework.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for our external accountants, preparing all information for year-end.
  • Support the commercial team by visiting clients to discuss billing, strengthen relationships, and participating in industry trade shows as required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in management accounting and financial reporting with 1 year UK based experience.
  • Advanced Excel and solid working knowledge of Sage Intacct or similar ERP.
  • Demonstrable experience in a hands-on, end-to-end accounting role, with a strong grasp of bookkeeping, management accounts, and UK GAAP.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with clients on financial matters.
  • Solid experience preparing accounts up to trial balance, with a strong understanding of accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
  • An entrepreneurial and flexible mindset, with a willingness to support wider business activities beyond a traditional finance scope.
  • Preferable proficiency with cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and a genuine interest in our technology stack (AI, IT, SaaS).

What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (rising with service)
  • Company Pension Scheme, Flexible work life balance with hybrid work facilities based on workload
  • Financial Support for further growth (AAT & ACCA) or other relevant qualification
  • A culture driven by our values of Integrity, Excellence, and Innovation.
  • The chance to be part of a mission-driven company that is “humanising technology” for a better future.
